http://cache.gawkerassets.com/assets/images/2010/01/custom_1263595984561_marblemadness.pngMark Cerny (http://kotaku.com/tag/markcerny/), a developer known for his work with Naughty Dog (http://kotaku.com/tag/naughtydog/) and Insomniac Games - and for his 1984 arcade hit Marble Madness (http://kotaku.com/tag/marblemadness/) - has been selected to the Hall of Fame (http://kotaku.com/tag/halloffame/) of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences.
Cerny joins only Will Wright and Shigeru Miyamoto as developers honored by both the AIAS hall of fame and the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Game Developers Choice Awards. Cerny's lifetime achievement honor came in 2004.
Cerny's 25-year career in programming saw him help to establish PlayStation mainstays Naughty Dog and Insominiac. His most recent work has been with Ice Team, the internal core development group for Sony.
"Mark Cerny is the closest we have come to a modern-day Da Vinci," AIAS president Joseph Olin said in a statement. "What he does isn't restricted to a single aspect of game creation, he really is a Renaissance man."
Cerny will be inducted into the AIAS' hall of fame during the academy's award show in Las Vegas this February.
"I'm thrilled to accept this award, which clearly has a lot to do with the drive and talent of the many teams that I've had the pleasure to work with over the years," Cerny said in a statement.
