http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/9/2010/01/500x_quantum_theory_release.jpg (http://cache.gawker.com/assets/images/9/2010/01/quantum_theory_release.jpg)Tecmo's third-person shooter Quantum Theory (http://kotaku.com/tag/quantumtheory/) has a release date (okay, window) for North American Xbox 360 (http://kotaku.com/tag/xbox360/) and PlayStation 3 (http://kotaku.com/tag/playstation3/) owners looking for, well, I guess something new to play.
The newly multiplatform (http://kotaku.com/5420638/quantum-theory-goes-multiplatform) "TPS" follows the Gears of War gameplay and aesthetic closely, adding in an AI-controlled co-op partner and an organic shapeshifting tower as the game's battleground. Our most recent hands-on (http://kotaku.com/5366592/hands-on-with-tecmos-tps-quantum-theory) with the game didn't exactly inspire us to start camping out for our own copies of Quantum Theory, but we'll be interested to see how it has progressed since Tokyo Game Show.
Japanese Quantum Theory enthusiasts will get the game on March 25 (http://kotaku.com/5429423/quantum-theory-theorizes-a-release-date), but Tecmo Koei America is still withholding the exact date for those of us in America. Expect it not too closely to Final Fantasy XIII and God of War III, also releasing in March.
