Im Steve from the West Midlands in the UK,although i do play the odd modern game i often fail to find anything original to stimulate me for very long so im 90% a retro gamer,i enjoy playing games on most systems upto the Jag and Dreamcast but my heart lies with my own early machines which were the Atari 2600 and the ZX Spectrum ,my least favourite system to date was the N64.
Anyway i look forward to joining in on DCretro.

I am new to this forum and just started reading through various threads on PS4.
I just felt the need to write about a story which happened to my sister. She got a computer virus.
It was a ransomware virus, it blocked her computer screen. It was some sort of Police virus and seems like it is a trending issue now. She was afraid of our mother and in a hurry so she paid the amount bad guys wanted.
I rarely get viruses myself but I started to read about it and found that one can easily delete it. We should never pay the ransom as it encourages the bad guys to create more and more such viruses. There a lot of articles on how to get rid of the virus without calling expensive computer repair services.

I visit here every couple of months (well this is actually my third visit in two weeks), which always seems that when you visit, you're either all alone or one of the old regulars have been here a few hours prior and never seems to be more than one old regular here at a time... We've all faded away, into obscurity.

I think one way to get this party re-started, would be to "hashtag" usernames and DCEmu on that social media platform that I sometimes act like JKKDARK for the sheer hell of trolling people... Which JKK is still lurking around the web, recently on a PSO forum in February (apparently he's still running Windows 7 - lol).

Without a freshen-up and ability to use on mobile (seriously, have you tried it? It's a harrowing experience), this forum will stay dead. It's a shame, I miss this place. So many bad choices.

I always change the user agent to desktop if I'm using my phone/tablet, because trying to use DCEmu on a phone browser with anything but... The site then looks like one of those large print book for old people... Maybe it's what Wraggster uses? :D

Though until you pointed it out, I've never logged into the mobile version... Damn, it's ugly on the forum side. Using the correct user agent makes everything look like the desktop version, so I'm not missing out on anything. :rolleyes:

Because the more people returning could eventually bring a following, which we all basically followed someone else here (Wraggster originally brought some people here from dcemulation.com)... You obviously chose the wrong side for a phone, I've been native to Android since 2010 and use Dolphin browser. 😂

An active chatbox feature which a few forums have, would be the IRC style of live chat. Which is actually a feature the vBulletin software supports (since 90% of the online forums are vBulletin based), but I don't think Martin is around anymore to fix these things? We seem to be heavily downgraded from the point of where we had signatures, could use spoiler boxes and a few other things. 🤔

Some forums I venture, such as the wrestling forum and one for hacks. I paid a lifetime VIP, which gives me status and actually helps those sites. I'd actually pay a lifetime VIP, if it ever became available here... Though if the site became active again with quite a few things to change. 😎
