Porting Persona 3, one of the highest-rated role-playing games of all time, to the PSP, would have been enough for fans of the series, but Atlus goes the extra mile, changing the face of the game with additional content and a new protagonist. Players will be able to choose the sex of the main character at the beginning of the game, which should lead to a more personal experience for players of either gender.
The PSP version also includes skill cards, part-time jobs, five different difficulty levels, and the ability to control your party members in battle, which was introduced in Persona 4.
"Persona 3 introduced a revolutionary social element to role-playing games," explained Aram Jabbari, Manager of Public Relations and Sales at Atlus. "Players weren't just progressing through a story; they were a part of it, and their decisions and the relationships they chose to foster or neglect became a powerful complement to the game's satisfying combat. Persona 3 Portable takes everything that made Persona 3 such a tremendous, award-winning hit and translates it into the perfect handheld RPG experience."
Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 Portable is slated for release on July 6th, 2010. Check out the box art and opening movie below, and visit the official website (http://www.atlus.com/p3p) for more info and screens.
