The Tampa Tribune had a big ol' time informing us Ekes, 30, was playing hisself some Grand Theft Auto (http://kotaku.com/tag/grandtheftauto/) III when Polk County (Fla.) deputies bagged him for perpetrating the titular act IRL. Ekes also was charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Burglary of a Conveyance (http://kotaku.com/tag/burglaryofaconveyance/) but apparently those titles have yet to be released in North America.
Best part, authorities took time to ask Ekes his opinion of the game. "It's a blast," he said. In response, Sheriff Grady Judd - no man with that name can work in law enforcement north of the Mason-Dixon - opined that "Crime is not a game. Real-life crime has real-life consequences," he said, "and I hope he goes to prison for a good long while, where they don't have 'Grand Theft Auto' video games."
