Unlike the Newton (http://gizmodo.com/5452193/the-story-behind-apples-newton), this tablet didn't go past prototypes whipped up by an industrial design firm, but at least we have some pictures to sate our curiosity about the device.
Frog Design (http://gizmodo.com/tag/frogdesign/), the company who created these prototypes for Steve Jobs back in 1983, has shared a few images to give us a peek of what could've been an Apple tablet (http://gizmodo.com/tag/appletablet/)—attachable keyboard, floppy drive, stylus and all:
Despite only being 27 years old, this gadget almost feels like an archeological find in comparison to what we think we might see in the upcoming tablet (http://gizmodo.com/5434566/the-exhaustive-guide-to-apple-tablet-rumors).
