i have One Question :

What Would You Want Most from the Hacking of the PS3 ?

Personally for me i would like to see Homebrew and Emulation on the PS3, also region free PS2, PS1, DVD and Blueray.

What say the members of DCEmu ?

better video codec support, would be nice to get the HD mkv video files running native on the PS3.

Ports of NullDC, PCSX2, and Dolphin would be great.

Homebrew and everything that goes along with that. The ability to make my own software for it. To run other peoples emulators. I especially want a PS1 emulator but even more so if possible a PS2 emulator with a tolerable frame rate. Seems like PS2 emulation is beginning to get somewhere on PC but I doubt its efficient enough yet to run very well on PS3. If it could run Dolphin (Wii emulator) then that would be absurdly great.

Make it an emulation beast. Also, run Ubuntu or some other Linux on a Slim if possible. I agree with the better codec support too.

Ports of NullDC, PCSX2, and Dolphin would be great.

This would all be fantastic, along with emulators of past systems, no more region coding on PS2, PS1, and DVDs would be great, more customization, breaking the restriction to the GPU in Linux, cross game chat for free, music playable in all games, PSP game emulation, etc

full speed emulators and a full access linux (guess those 2 go hand in hand?)

windows 7 at full speed - using a graphics/processor swap to increase ram? (or XP if not possible) and (virtualization) emulation of all consoles especially PSP and Dreamcast :D so I can play every game in the world on 1 machine, and at 1080p

Emulators, lots and lots of emulators

That, a 650GB hard drive and more Other OS support for things like Amiga OS, classic Mac OS, and BeOS.

Damnit this makes it sound closer to being hacked for public use lol anything the ps3 can do running unsigned code will be cool, once it does the rollercoaster begins (hopefully)

I would love to be able to run every past generations worth of games on just one machine. Including DS, PSP, Xbox, PS2, etc. The list is endless. The PS3 has the power to pull it off. We just need way in.

I'm normally against hacking the PS3.

My mind will change only with:
More video format support.
Fix the Greek alphabet problem.
Fix the backwards compatibility.
A gameqube or Wii emulator.
No troubles with on-line play.

If I see the above 5... I'll hack My PS3 this instant!

A gameqube or Wii emulator.
would be even better if they found a way to link up the wii mote (pretty sure they are only bluetooth like the PS3 controllers)

Seems like PS2 emulation is beginning to get somewhere on PC but I doubt its efficient enough yet to run very well on PS3.

The main reason that its so hard to emulate ps2 software on the PC is incompatible hardware which shouldn't be as much of a problem on the ps3 I think that 100% emulation isn't out of the question.:D

I love how the DCemu community are so sensible.
We just want Emu's and the ability to make our own mini games :D

The ability to play PS2 and also other emu stuff like Amiga

Yeah, I too will settle for running games off the hdd.
PS1 and PS2 emulation that works.
You know, just the basic things that were promised at the machine's inception.

Maybe even both together, PS1/2 emulation running off the hdd?

That's pretty much it.

I'd also like to see region free DVD support and of course any kind of emulation if possible.

would be even better if they found a way to link up the wii mote (pretty sure they are only bluetooth like the PS3 controllers)

They are blu-tooth. However the motion sensing works through a sensor bar that plugs into the wii that detects the position of the remote. So if it does use the wiimote then it would only use the accelerometer, which the ps3 controller has

hehe stew2000 ur so right, I think after I unlocked my psp the only game i pirated was the un cut manhunt game and to be honest I only played it for a short while anyways...

i just wana see the usual emulation and perhaps a real browser, oh and perhaps some good old fashioned homebrew.

Windows 7 on it to use the PS3 as a PC gaming rig ahaha for the luls.

Plus making it windows compatible leaves it open to all the full speed emus that have all ready been created.

And of course we could always just partition the drive to boot back to play PS3/PSN games and etc.
