Dreamcast not reading discs

Recently my Dreamcast has failed to read discs of any kind. On the BIOS screen it would say 'Please wait while the disc is being checked' and then when I press play it would still say 'Please insert game disc'. I have tried phis with all my official games but to no avail.

Also I have found that the disc doesn't even show up in the music mode which leads me to believe that the Dreamcast isn't even acknowledging that there is even a disc inside.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried cleaning the laser, a cubetip and some alchol should do the trick!
