X-Flash V12

Hi Guys,
This the X-Flash V12 release.
Just some things to note with this release.
The original Dark_AleX Custom Firmware modification does not work under
MPH firmware launcher 1.3.7. Simulation mode works correctly, but the firmware
dump will probably become unuseable with any firmware launcher if the
custom firmware files are applied in simulation mode.

You can add to the config.txt file that X-Flash V12 writes in ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM,
but do not edit the section that X-Flash creates if you want to use
the configurator (you only need to change the file manually if you wish
to add prx files).

The only qualification for png file type is that it must be 480x272 resolution.
I did not encounter any problem when using any png of that resolution.

New for X-Flash V12:
- Support for applying Dark_AleX's latest custom firmware mod
and reversal of it, complete with ASCII graphics configurator.
- Implement Freeplay & Fluff's Name Plate picture mod in the PSP's
about screen. name_plate.png is checked for size and resolution.
- Program checks existence of Xflash/Dump, and Xflash/Registry folders
when required, and creates them if they do not exist.
- Program checks for firmware dump before simulation mode starts.
- Program checks for at least 16Mb free space on memory stick before
firmware dump if the Xflash/Dump folder doesn't already exist.
- Menu code optimization.

Sweet. Is there anyway you could pre-install a few gameboot intro's and boot sounds to this app? That would be awesome. I'm not exactly sure how to do it myself & I don't want to brick my PSP. Also - here's a great idea you might be able to do something with.?
Would there be anyway to intergrate this wonderful app with DEVHOOK? I would love to be able to disable the network update and do a few different things with my DEVHOOK version of 2.7. Thanks and keep up the great work!!!

I just uploaded V11b which is a quick fix to V11.
The saving X-Flash colour theme function was broken,
and now fixed.

Can't include gameboots, they are copyright, and I don't want to
break the law any more than required.

Just swap the new gameboot into the XFLASH/Xflash/Modified folder.
Every flash write operation is verified now.

i think these movies are ripped from psp games, and that's not legal (am i right?)?!:confused:

No, i didn't mean sega or any copyrighted gameboot intros. I'm meant legal, user created ones. Is that possible? Something like a color swirl or something innocent like that.:)



PS- I would love it if someone could make a "sinister laugh" gameboot sound!!! That would be the best.;)

hey i read anywhere that it's not possible to make own pmf files, only sony can create them, these which you can see in different videos are ripped pmf files from different games (this bloody one is from prince of persia).

Yeah - that's what I mean. When I say gameboot movie I mean the little "SONY PSP" screen that pops up when you turn on the psp. That's what I wanna replace. With anything legal thts cooler than just "sonyPSP".:)

If you don't know what you are doing then don't change any of the files in the XFLASH folders.
