View Full Version : Speakers and sponsors step up for 3D Gaming Summit

Nvidia, RealD and Panasonic are to sponsor the inaugural 3D Gaming Summit, due to take place April 21-22 in Los Angeles.

Speakers confirmed for the event include Oddworld Inhabitants' Lorne Lanning, film producer Ari Arad, Sony London's Mike Hawking and Gaikai's David Perry, as well as representatvies from Insomniac Games, Ubisoft, Zombie Studios and Wired Magazine.

"As the 3D platform expands from film to gaming, Variety has broadened its content to cover all bases of this growing sector," said Linda Buckley Bruno, publishing director of event partner Variety.

"Exciting changes are occurring across the industry and 3D entertainment is rapidly proving to be one that is shaping the future of the business. Partnering on the 3D Summit allows Variety the opportunity to cement itself at the forefront of 3D entertainment, following, anticipating and analysing the potential of this virtual space."

Sessions will look at 3D games in relation to digital distribution, casual gaming, games on cinema screens, 3D laptops for games, new opportunities in the serious games business, and the future of the 3D gaming business.

"The 3D Gaming Summit will bring together some of the greatest minds in interactive and traditional media," commented John Gaudiosi, senior content advisor to the Summit. "It will be an exciting event where the best and brightest outline how entertainment and gaming are entering a third dimension."

Keynote speakers for the event are expected to be announced shortly.
