The LA Times (http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/movies/2010/02/missile-command-movie-fox-hollywood-videogame.html) reports that Atari is in "active discussions with studios" to option the rights to Missile Command as a film, hinting that some studios may already be prime destinations for the license. Yes, it does sound about as exciting as the movie based on Asteroids (http://kotaku.com/5306085/universal-wins-rights-to-produce-anasteroids-movie) plus relationships (http://kotaku.com/5322891/asteroids-movie-is-about-relationships-also-blowing-up-crap).
But you'd be right in opining that a movie based on Missile Command is not as exciting a prospect as director Peter Berg's adaptation of Hasbro's Battleship (http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118008608.html?categoryid=13&cs=1). Why we're talking about any of these properties in advance of Yar's Revenge: The Movie in 3D is beyond me.
