This film book mark just went for nearly US$4,000.
Moviegoers could redeem two ticket stubs, one of which must be dated February 27 or later, to receive a bookmark made from a 35mm film strip.
This film strip depicts a key scene (hence, the demand) between characters Yuki Nagato and Kyon from the first anime feature film in the Haruhi Suzumiya feature anime.
The auction ended less than two days after the auction began and the top bid was ¥356,000 (about US$3,990). There were 233 bids made for this filmstrip bookmark.
Haruhi Suzumiya has seen her likeness in video game form for PS2, PSP, Wii and DS titles.
