IGN have done a review of the new Tekken game for the PSP, heres the conclusions:

IGN's Ratings for Tekken: Dark Resurrection (PSP)
Rating Description
out of 10 click here for ratings guide
9.0 Presentation
Story modes for more than 30 different characters, tolerable load times, an excellent interface, Game sharing, and some of the best production values on PSP are just the beginning.
9.5 Graphics
One of the single-best visual experiences for the PSP yet, Dark Resurrection does have ghosting and jaggies, but does everything else damn-near perfectly. Great art too!
9.0 Sound
This could be the best Tekken soundtrack yet, the voice-overs sound great, and the audio effects are all top level.
9.0 Gameplay
Hardware d-pad problems aside, the fighting engine here is the best on the platform. Tough AI, dozens of fighting styles, an endless array of moves, and a number of modes go a long way.
9.5 Lasting Appeal
Uploadable and downloadable ghosts, addictive mini-games, and a kick-ass dojo mode accompany a deep character customization feature and the best "versus" gameplay on PSP.
9.2
Outstanding OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

I've had this game for around two weeks now. I've never really played any Tekken games before, but I must say Dark Resurrection is fun.

It does work with Devhook 0.44. The file is very large. Have to compress is (still large). I think it is one of the best games PSP has to offer.

This game is in fact one of the BEST PSP games. And I'm not even that big on fighting games. I would recommend this game to ANYONE. IT really shows what the PSP is capable of. I am just really dissapointed that this game and many others do not have infrastructure multiplayer modes.

For 1.50 users, good news! This game DOES indeed work using DevHook. So does Bomberman Portable, Kings Field Additional I, Blade Dancer, & Valkyrie Profile Lenneth......

THANK YOU DEVHOOK!

what is dev-hook?

DevHook is easily one of the single greatest works to come out for the PSP Scene. It allows 1.50 PSP's to play ALL games. Even 2.60+ required games.

I'm enjoying new releases such as Bomberman Portable, Blade Dancer, & Valkyrie Profile Lenneth thanks to the mighty DevHook.

Buy the game! ...I have no problem running the disc on my 1.5 through Devhook. Considering how big the game is it loads really quick!

An excellent conversion! :D

I just wish the PSP’s dpad was a better design.

I’ve got the Street fighter alpha 3 dpad attached to my PSP (which is basically the same as the new Tekken one), but to be honest its a poor substitute for a decent controller. I know u can configure Tekken and Alpha 3 to use the analog stick, but pulling off some of the more complex moves is a bit of a nightmare!

The sticky bits of my replacement dpad aren’t really sticking to the PSP anymore so I’m going to have to rip em off soon. :(

Surely Namco, Capcom, or even Sony could come up with a better idea to fix the controller for fighting games, without having to resort to gluing things on the PSP???
