A Doctor Who game will hit DS and Wii before Christmas after Nintendo agreed a contract said to be worth £10m.

According to The Sun (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/tv/2889266/Doctor-Who-is-made-into-a-computer-game-for-the-Wii.html#ixzz0hz049ohR), the game is at the early stages of development - but will be based around the new Doctor, played by Matt Smith.

It will feature Doctor Who baddies including the Daleks, the Cybermen and the Silurians.

An insider told the paper: "This has been in the pipeline for years. We're delighted to have finally nailed down a deal. We went with Nintendo as they have huge appeal for families and Doctor Who is very much a family brand.

"The Wii console is key for us as it's something families play together."

Former Doctor David Tennant added: "The video game was quite actively developed, but it's difficult to nail as the Doctor doesn't blow things up.

"He's not Batman, who goes around smacking people in the head."

There has never been a good Doctor Who game ever so this will probably be rubbish. The show doesn't seem to translate to gaming very well.

I think to make a decent Doctor Who game you could make a JRPG type game with the Doctors assistants coming and going as companions with different skills. Something like Chrono Trigger.
