Both seem the same to me, The reason im looking for a hard drive is to upgrade my ps3 memory the specs to upgrade are

2.5IN
5400 RPM
Sata

also found this info if it helps

"2.5-inch serial ATA model commonly found in notebooks"

Any help would be great :]
Also any comments on the lifespan of these models would be great

My PS3 (slim) is running with an installed 320GB Scorpio Blue.

For the slim, the only PS3 I know anything about. The hard drive has to be a 2.5" SATA, which I've read is the same for the older PS3's.

If you are unsure when you are buying, it's the hard drives which are commonly in laptops. My laptop is currently running the hard drive from my 120GB slim without problem, so I'm assuming just about any 2.5" SATA with the specifications will install to the console.

The hard drives are the same as each other aside from the capacity. As for the prices, the one at $122 is probably an older listing whose seller pushing that price hasn't updated it to a lower and realistic level. With that, I say it's safe to get the 500GB at $80, especially as it's being sold and shipped by Amazon.
