psp downgrade help

hi, this is my first day here, I have a 2.6 version of filmware which was on the psp when i bought it new.

I used the downgrader which i copied to MP_ROOT then i load GTA and go to load game, and it says no data saved, i've checked to see if its a TA-082 or anything else and theres no writting there at all.

Please can anyone advise what i'm doing wrong, cheers.

you load the downdater with fanjitas eboot loader thats all im saying because i dont want your psp to break just dont mess with this if you dont know what your doing im just looking out for you;)

ok i'll help but only if ur 110% sure ur psp doesn't have a TA-082 motherboard cuz i don't want u to brick ur psp

FIRST OF ALL, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE CORRECT MOTHERBOARD!
You need to download and install the latest eLoader from fanjita.org. Then you need to install the latest version of the downdater. After this, you need to obtain the Firmware 1.50 flash files (these are illegal so you'll have to google it ;) After you obtain these, place them in the correct folders. Double check you've done everything right, connect your PSP to the ac adapater (power) and load GTA:LCS. After the eLoader appears, select the downdater and then you'll see the memory stick flashing. Wait until it stops doing this before even touching it (it should reboot by itself, if not, leave it for about 10 mins). You **should** have successfully downgraded to 1.50. :D

If the downgrader is going to work, you'll need to have the eboot.pbp in the PSP/GAME/ folder for the eLoader to start it.

or u could just go to www.psp-hacks.com and get the final version which has all the files u need, also u put the 1.5 update eboot in a folder(u make) called UPDATE uses caps, the rest of the files go on the root of ur MS(this is for the downgrader, the eloader u can autoinstall

mp_root isnt the root, its video data

the root is when you see PSP and MP_ROOT

hi all.i want 2 downgrade i have a compatible psp but i dnt want 2 lose my web browser.is there any way of keeping it?does the new dev hook also give u a web browser or is it JUST for emulating fw to b able 2 play games?any1 knw anyfing bout this?

DevHook allows you to emulate the latest firmware (2.71) so you can use all the features of firmware 2.71 on your 1.50 PSP. You can use the web browser as well so you won't lose it even though you downgrade to 1.50

The main advantages of 1.50 are that you can still emulate version 2.71 and get all the latest features, play all the latest games and play every single homebrew game and application.

i downloaded the easy downgrader from psp hacks does any1 knw if it contains the flash 1.5 file? using the easy dwn grader i still have to eboot it up through gta rite?

Yes you have to boot it up through GTA. And i don't know if the easy downgrader from psp hacks contains the files for 1.50.

wow EVERY home brew and application! so i will be able 2 use my current home brew! thats superb! when dwn grading shud i remove all save data (exept eloader of coarse) and all homebrew? i have a 1 gig mem and currently have bout 700mb free space. is the new tekken game out 4 psp? if it is is it any gud and is there a newer fw update on the umd?

You can run every homebrew, but you might have to use something like psp brew to convert 1.00 to 1.50.

The new tekken plays thru devhook with 2.71 emulation, so you have no worries there. And yes, it is awesome...I'd have to say the graphics are better than tekken4 on the ps2 (newest tekken I have apart from psp version)

ive seen sumwhere bout a devhook 0.46 and that its illegal. i have dwn loaded devhook 0.45 but couldnt find 0.46. y is the 0.46 version illegal anyway? the 0.45 version i have says it emulates fw 2.71 but it also says sumfing bout having fw 2.6. wots that suposed 2 mean?

basically, you need alot more than just the devhook files to emulate any firmware. You need some copyrighted files (this is probably the illegal part), which you can extract from a 2.71 update eboot, or find some dodgy site or torrent to download the required files from.

There are some decent guides around that tell you all you need to know about devhook, just use your google kung-fu ;)

thats gud im glad tekken only has fw 2.7 cuz i read theres a new fw 2.8 and thought it might have bin 4 tekken cuz its new. is there actually a fw 2.8? and if so what new features does it have? must c pretty crappy

It adds the ability to save rss video to the memory stick, uh plays video from /psp/video instead of that strange directory. I think that is about it...not really worth it. It was just released today I think

I don't really understand your question, but, here goes :)

If you can download the files needed to run fw 2.71 in devhook, you don't need to worry about getting the files for fw 2.60.

But, yes you could extract the files needed to run 2.60 from a game which has the 2.60 update on it. It's a real nightmare though, so just go with downloading the stuff for fw 2.71, it's alot easier :)

1001 is normally jap and 1002 is euro & usa although you will find eather or eany where you look. As for the ta-081 or 082 you need to look inside the UMD case if you cant see it then your only choice to be 100% sure is to open it up. Remember this does void the warranty.

well i dont wanna make a new thread so ill ask here. ive been thinkin to downgrade my psp with a friends gta, but if i do can i still play my other games without having to update again? (im pretty new at this stuff) or should i just buy gta and get an eloader and have gta to run the eloader and to run around and kill hookers with

no downgrade and use devhook to play all your games. Get the full downgrader it works great iv ussed it to downgrade mine and my friends psp.
