Hi All,

I didn't forget you, dear FW2.1+ gamers !!!!

Here is a new version of PSPVBA the GameBoy Advance Emulator for PSP.

Taken the code of the version 1.2.2 (with media engine and not working ofr 2.1+ FW)
i've just finished to merge it with the old v1.1.0 version and here it is :

** THIS VERSION IS FOR 2.1+ FW PSP ! **

What's new in version 1.1.1 (compared to v1.1.0) :

- Improve sound (no more SDL stuff)
- GU access improvement (disable cache)
- Add option to enable/disable GBA battery/flash save
- Add new beautiful icons and background designed by Win-Win (Shadow) !
- New feature to save and load a distinct setting file for each games
- Add option to enable/disable the cache with the Graphical Unit
- Emulator menus reorganisation (new menu for settings)
- Rewrite some part of the Gfx code (faster)
- Bug fix and code cleaning

How to use it ?

Have a look to the README.txt file !

One binary version for 2.x FW and sources are included in the zip archive.

This package is under GPL Copyright, read COPYING file for more information about it.

Enjoy, :D

Zx.

Nice going ZX, your always keeping it real. Are you currently working on any other projects? You by far have the best GBA emulator right now.

I've discover many hints while porting VBA to PSP, and i've many ideas now to improve my other emulator ports :). So i think i will first try to make a new version for each of them, with new features, more speed etc ... :)

no ... it works for FW up to 2.6 (as all other homebrew) and you need to run GTA, with the eloader from fanjita and Ditlew ... ;)

You need to Use the Unpatched GTA with Fanjita's GTA Eloader that you can get here http://noobz.eu
or on this site for that matter. and Welcome to Psp homebrew!

let not get my hopes up, you think you can reach 100% for the 2.xx?

zx-81
July 29th, 2006, 23:56
If you have 1.5FW take the v1.2.2

If you have +2.1FW take the v1.1.1

Thank you...SO much for this! Please, i beg you, make emus for both firmwares..I have tried to downgrade my psp without luck, i bricked it in a strange way once (umd discs could not be read) Got a brand new one luckely, so i´m NEVER gonna try that again. Here is a new version for 2.x FW users :)

What's new in version 1.1.2 (compared to v1.1.1) :

- Rewrite partially the code of the graphic stuff
(many parts of the code weren't optimized at all !)
- Rewrite partially the code of the ARM emulator
- Review memory cache strategy
- Bug fix and code cleaning

thanks, in 1.1.1 though, no matter what settings i used, it would never go faster than 6fps (or slower) whether i use max render or normal, sfx on/off, frame skip or turbo, so i'll see if this is any better. also can you make new topics for updates, or update the topic header, since i almost missed this update ;)

Do you no where to save the flash player because i downloaded it but dont no where to save it to as theres no readme file

Video_freak
July 31st, 2006, 10:53
you can save it anywhere on your memory stick (make sure you put all the files in the same directory tho). when your in the psp web browser, open the file by typing its location in the address bar (for example, if you put it in the root of your memory stick, it would be file:/fmp.swf

With 2.5 or 2.6 FW you need the game GTA to run any homebrew or emulator on your PSP.

(see http://noobz.eu/ for details about this eloader)

Anyway i suggest you to use rather gPSP emulator that's much more faster than this one ;) ...

zx-81
September 6th, 2006, 10:32
yes i know, i've tried it already ... The new eloader is still in early stage, so we have to wait a bit to have one compatible with all homebrew. pspvba needs a lot of memory, and it seems to be the explanation here ...

Sturaiku
September 7th, 2006, 16:26
Well I have a dilemma, I use the tiff eloader and It does boot up the emulator, but once it goes into "loading main string" it freezes for a bit, then just completely shuts my PSP off, is it because im using a 2.0? Or is it something else?

November 7th, 2006, 01:11
Are you on a ta-082 raide ashcroft?
If so I reccomend going for reverse devhook cause you get full compatibility.
If not just downgrade to 1.5 or upgrade to 2.71
2.60 is definitly a dead firmware

You'd better try the emu from exophase (gpsp) which is much more faster than this one.

Anyway this emu doesn't work with the tiff exploit on 2.6 (it works only with the GTA exploit) :o

Zomg!

When did this become den of the n00bz???

Stop posting here and instead start reading the guides in the following forums:

http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=80

For Firmware explanations and help.

http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/forumdisplay.php?f=48

For emulator guides.

Please let ZX-81 get on with coding his excellent emulators rather than swamping him with simple questions that you can find the answer for with a little bit of effort.

Thanks.

PS hinote it took about 7 months to find an exploit to allow homebrew on 2.5/2.6 firmware and at the moment it still isn't possible on above 2.80, so either buy a different PSP with a lower firmware, or play the waiting game.
