does anybody thinking about a Guardian Heroes (amazing Saturn game) port...
I suppose we need a saturn emu first,
but 2D game like Guardian heroes maybe can be ported to a psp like Beat of Rage..
what about..

Read the sticky

No source=No port.

BUT, you could make a clone.

I haven't find a source for this one..
this doesn't mean the source don't exist..
simply posting my porting Idea,
hoping someone that love Guardian heroes like us
make something..

It was made by Treasure (who are still going) therefore there is no legally available source.

As always, a clone is possible though.

maybe an emulator can resolve this matter...
think about Sega Rally or Panzer Dragon running on psp screen...
if sony release psOne emu, a saturn emu is about the same thing..
sorry but I don't know too much about code so
I don't know if it's possible...

No, a saturn emu will be very hard.

hack.fool

yeah, hard is not impossible..
with coders like Zx-81 or NJ, everything is possible..

Nope, it WILL be impossible. I will even put money on this. The Saturn hardware was a pain in the ass to even develop for thanks to the complex and powerful architecture. There is only one or two PC emulators that I know of that can emulate the Saturn (and I am not even 100% sure if they are legal) not to mention they need a stupidly powerful PC to run smoothly.

The n64 emulator is only possible because the architecture of the PSP and N64 is similar enough to even run at a reasonable speed.

The Saturn is NOT about the same as the PSX, it is vastly more complex and had much more custom hardware (not to mention it was designed for 2D rather then 3D).

In short, Saturn emulator is impossible to get at a runnable speed.

what a way to crush our dreams :(

Yup. I love doing that.

But of course, Clones are always possibly possible. Which is HIGHLY possible.

well yeah no source no port, and a saturn emu is very very unlikely. The best chance is either a clone/remake or maybe running the GBA update version (but its not as good as the original

well...
I'm already playn' Gba version..but as you said its not as good as the original..
however..I suppose nobody thinking about a N64 emu before monkey show us that it can run on our little psp..so you never know..
a little question...
why source code is available for N64
and not for Saturn?

your getting mixed up you need the source code for each game, if you want to port a certain game... but if you can emulate a console you can run all the games it can run.

very rarely do they release the source code for a console game (i can only think of one game) it happen more with P.C. games

also the saturn are more conplex than the n64 and more research has gone into developing a N64 emu than a saturn emu

I will repeat again. The chances of a Saturn emulator ever appearing on a PSP at a playable is as close to nil without being nil.

A clone is far more likely.
