Locoroco has fallen out of the top 10 ranking in japan according to Famitsu.
The ranking can be accessed here (http://www.famitsu.com/game/news/2006/08/02/103,1154519695,58046,0,0.html)
Well, with the summer holiday season here and Locoroco dropping out it is fair enough to conclude that Japan does not favour it much.
With most PSP owners here mostly in the > 25 years of age bracket, it is quie understandable why they would not buy a game which from its commercials is widely popularized as "kids stuff".
And since kids in japan own DS more than PSP there is no reason why they would buy the same either.:(
Personally I love the game and just yesterday finished the 40th (World 5, Level 8) stage and tossed out the UMD for next.:)
