A new release of the board game for the Nintendo DS by johanb123 (http://lpd.ath.cx/), heres the details:

It recently occurred to me that most people have no idea how to play this game, so I've added brief in-game descriptions of both buildings and roles. Also, I fixed a bug that has been causing random crashes, thanks to iball over at dcemu for pointing this out.

Puerto Rico on DS? Sounds cool, considering I'm from "La Isla del Encanto" myself. I'm getting a DS Lite for christmas and this will probably be on it, fast...can anyone provide a Boricua with screenshots of this game?

It's not much to look at, but there are two screenshots on http://lpd.ath.cx/ - and if you want to give it a go against the AI, it runs fine on Dualis, no$gba and Desmume.

Also runs fine on my Supercard mini-SD.
johanb123, did you get my email suggestion about including a basic 'how-to-play' document?
Some of the things on the screens are hard to figure out.
Good game though! Hope you've entered it in one of the Neo coding competitions.

I'm currently working on a tutorial mode - it's a tedious, time-consuming process, but not particularly difficult. In the meantime, http://www.fwtwr.com/fwtwr/puerto_rico/rules/index.htm is an online copy of the rulebook, and explains everything really well. If that's too much or not enough, http://www.boardgamegeek.com/game/3076 has plenty of quickstart guides, player aids and rules translations, as well as strategy articles and the like.
Anyway, thanks again for your interest, help and suggestions. I'll probably whip up a quickstart readme.txt to bundle with the next release, since I suppose it's a lot harder to figure out how to work something that you didn't write yourself.
Cheers -

Thanks for all the hard work. I already found both those sites before when I was searching for the rules. :)
Let me know when you have something ready and I'll 'big dummy' test it for you.
