View Full Version : DCEmu Portal Site Launched

August 5th, 2006, 18:13

Today is a great day for DCEmu and the reason why is the launch of our new HQ or better known as the DCEmu Network Portal Site.

As you can see the logo has changed to incorporate our new Mascott, a mascott that pays homage to our Dreamcast heritage.

The new portal site has a fresh new look and i must say it looks the best of our sites yet. If you look around youll see a great new feature and thats the rotating feature areas which change upon everytime you reload the main page.

The Network site will be home to all our official DCEmu reviews (any offers of review material are always welcome.) Ive already moved my Treamcast (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/treamcast.php) and Maxevo (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/maxevo.php)Reviews and ill have a review of the Megadrive/32x Flash cart coming shortly.

The DCEmu Network is here to bring a fresh and legal side to the world of homebrew, homebrew is great for the fans but it also can be great for the coders who may get recognised by game companies if they are good enough. As new consoles come out we will expand to cover them.

I do have some thank you messages for Martin (our gracious host who keeps the show running, Soully (for the Web designs that showcase our network), DS69 (the forum admin and no 2 of the DCEmu Network), SevLila (http://kamiloka.free.fr/), Djizeuss & SiZiOUS (for the excellent mascott) and also to PSPDemon and Kaiser and all the other people who have helped to get the new portal up and running.

So youve seen the screengrab above, now check out the new portal here --> http://www.dcemu.co.uk

The new portal site has a fresh new look and i must say it looks the best of our sites yet.I think I agree. The rest of the pages kind of look hobbled togeather (no offense), but this one's a step closer to professional. Much better looking.

Also, no offense on the logo character, but the perspective/porportion is totally out of whack (even taking foreshortening into consideration, the arm is too short. The head itself is cocked oddly and the positioning of the eyes don't match. It would be impossible for the right arm to be entirely hidden at that angle, and the shoulders should deffinately be broader than the hips at that angle as well). If you're going to stick with that illustration, I'd deffinately fix it up to match what is an otherwise pretty appealing page.
