And here it is! PlayStation Plus has been announced. As we suspected, the PlayStation Network will not change, while power users can upgrade for $50 a year or $18 for three months. But that ain't all! Looks like your very first three months are free... and what do you get for your hard earned dough? Tons of premium content, including "hundreds of dollars of products" throughout the year, early access to betas, and Qore.

It's just a glorified games rental scheme... Sadly, you don't get to keep any of the content you've paid for (I was looking forward to it until I read the articles). :(

Why would it matter? If you want the game forever then buy it at the discounted price...but really, how many times do you replay a game? This is actually a good deal though. Free DLC, themes, avatars, Qore, PSN titles all for $4 a month? Where do I sign up?
