AME has already reduced its price point for Sony’s PlayStation Move, despite the device not being due until September.
Originally giving a price tag of £39.99, the UK retailer has now reduced the Move to £34.99, according to VG247.
The new Move price now undercuts that of Amazon (£37.91) and Play.com (£39.99) – also reduced since their initial listings.
GAME also lowered the price for the Navigation Controller from £29.99 to £24.99.
The PlayStation Move is due for release on September 15th. Sony has yet to announce UK pricing.

Pre-release price wars... I love it already, which I will purchase mine in October, seeing which price is the most reasonable (possibly a supermarket).

Well i'm not paying more than £50 for Kinect so they got some serious warring to get me in. At least Move has chance of a cheap Chinese knock off because it's all fairly standard tech, but i think Kinect's a bit too specialised for them to bother at a decent price.

don't think you will get cheap knock offs for the move, I'm sure sony have a few patents to stop that.

Also its hard to compare kinect vs move pricing. Eg
Move $49.99, eyetoy $33 Total $82.99
kinect $99/$149

So the Move is cheaper. but then what about the Navigation Controller $29.99, now the total $112.98. That right in the middle of the Kinect price range. But Kinect supports 4 players for $99/$149 , $82.99/$112.98 you only get once player

So if you want 4 move players you need $232.96, and that is without any Navigation Controllers. But the ps3 only supports up to 7 wireless controllers, so 4 move and 3 Navigation Controllers max which costs $322.57.

I guess it depends how important the Navigation Controllers before you can really compare price. Its like comparing apples and oranges really

Since when has China took any real notice of patent laws? It'll probably end up as tatty crap but they could probably knock out a Move for less than half the official price, and since it's the kind of thing that i'm unlikely to use much that's where i'll be heading unless Sony and MS start subsidising.

Goto dealextreme.com and you'll be buried in fake Wiimotes, Nunchucks, balance boards, repair parts, mod chips and basically anything you can think of official you'll find fake there.

ok your right there are fake wiimotes, but i did not see any fake eye toys (ps3) or sixaxis ps3 controller (with motion control). Also it been reported that kinetic cost MS $150 to make so I don't think we will see any fakes of them, but I wonder how much it cost to make the move.

China fail at the PS3 knock-offs, but if they put a year into it, a clone of Move could arise. By in which time, a lot cheaper to buy officially for the safe bet.

I only like the fake memory sticks, because out've every four, three are good and last until the plastic cracks.

Seriously... (?)

They're in the entertainment (games/DVD) section of most Tesco stores (and sell very quickly too), they're made by Mad Catz, along with the wireless nunchuck.

The remotes are so close to what Nintendo produce, it has been known for people to buy them as replacements and place the insides within an official Wii-remote shells.

The Wii, is easier to mass produce the components. Which is near enough impossible to say for the PS3, because SONY is rumoured run at a very low profit line from the manufacture costings.

I purchased a Six Axis PS3 controller from China and it stated to being reconditioned, but when I received it, it was something different. The left analogue was dodgy, which prompted me to complain and out've desperation to know what was wrong with the item as the seller had done a disappearing act, I opened up the controller, only to find that both of the analogue sections had both been carelessly repaired with what looks to be the inside of a plastic wire twist, melted to the solder points, with all this flaky brown lead residue covering most of the other parts of the board. Which tells me, that they can somewhat repair, but not reproduce compatible PS3 products.

To make Move, I would say it's more than the Wii-Remote on the basis of SONY having near enough three retailed years to perfect over Nintendo's product and it will cost very much more for both items.

The only reason there's no fake eyetoys is because no-one really wants to buy them, but now they can use existing webcam technology to easily run them off and i see nothing in the Move controllers that isn't easily available to do the fakes, but i just think there's too much tech in Kinect to easily fake at a decent cost.
