Art a member of our forums has released a new version of his firmware modification tool for the PSP, heres whats new:

New for X-Flash Kerrang Build 5:
- Additional 'old school' screens added to the credits demo
including equalizer style music visualization, media player
style music visualization, fireworks effect, vector objects,
and spinning circles.. all in ASCII!.
- Home and Start buttons can be used for program controlled exit.
- Select button is a shortcut to the XMB Menu Label Editor.
- Real time checking for activated USB mode. Program will not run if
it is launched or resumed from a shell with USB mode activated.
- Startup checking of available RAM. Program will not start if over
2Kb of RAM is tied up by another application.
- New Easter Egg for this version has been given away in the thread.
- New Icon and accompanying AT3 loop.
- Programming optimization.

Due for X-Flash Kerrang Build 6:
- Detection of iR Shell module (thanks to AhMan for the method).
No possibility of launching X-Flash from within iR Shell.

All these flash apps coming out I wonder how close we are all getting to our flash limit?

seems to be a problem if using the modify config for POC from x-flash it allways revert back to show curupt icons and no autoboot, but the config file on the psp stays the same, i love this app :)

Yeah I love this app too thank you Art,I have had the same problem with the config on V12.Nothing like having all my backgrounds and gameboot in black,it matches that sleek psp profile.

Thanks! I dig X-Flash, but I wont use untill some major features appear as I promised myself not to flash my PSP every time a new mod is out :)

It would be cool with a shortkey for rebbot while in FW 1.5 though (besides holding that power switch for three secs).

Best!

Yeah,I'm kinda holding off on new flashes myself, got my psp just how I like it:)I still use dark alex's custom firmware and haven't even tried harleyg's.I really like art's EULA, don't litter!Honestly I'm waiting for linux.

Why, there's a limit to how many times you can flash your PSP before it bricks?!?

Theoretically yes, although I don't know if anybody's done it.Basically I think it has to do with corruption of the flash chip, since we can't defrag and reformat it without firmware already on it or at all for that matter.
