Any hope for downgrade firmware 2.71 or 2.80??

Hic,so sad that Im stuck at firmware 2.71.Now I should upgrade to firmware 2.80 to play more demo games or continue wait downgrade for firmware 2.71.Plz help me:(

The chance of a 2.71/2.80 exploit is pretty slim. If you want to, then upgrade...It really won't make that much of a difference.

well 2.60 with ta-82 cannot be downgraded yet due to the hardware limitations... but user mode hombrew could happen...
2.71 is possible, the firmware can be deconstructed from the inside, thanks to decryption...
2.80 is not likely, first we need to decrypt it, then exploits can be found. it will take a long time, maybe a year...

if you want more hopes of downgrading, stay on the lowest possible firmware version. if oneday you crack and update, then thats your decision too :D

I'd wait for someone with a brain ever so slightly bigger then a flys weener to find an exploit/make a downgrader personally. i'm on 2.71 btw :eek: ...

the answer is yes. there is hope for a downgrader, there is always hope, back in the day we would never have thought of a downgrader being possible at all! then the 2.0 downgrader came and people began asking (after 2.6 was released) the same question ur asking now, and the answer was always, doubtful, now how about that 2.6 downgrader :) so the answer is always/always will be yes. dont worrry about it, just keep to the lowest possible firmware at all times, and wait, patience is the key. And the TA-82 thing, I think it can be bypassed eventually, maybe by the use of custom 1.5 eboots to be used in the downgradde process.

sell it, spend 240$ on a 1.52 on success hk, upgrade that to 2.0, and downgrade to 1.5. best solution

Yes, you could do that or...Keep it were it is and wait for a downgrade.

You already have almost every single new feature that the Sony updates provide, and you can play every commercial game out at the moment. If you're itching for homebrew and emulation, sell it and look for a 1.50 to 2.60 PSP...but if you can be patient and wait, upgrading to 2.80 will only have you waiting much much longer for a downgrade, and for the few new features at hand with 2.80fw...I really think an update is not even worth it.

Hey guys, iv been messing around with libtiff for a couple of weeks now
and I found something interesting, Im still doing debugging on it and
whatnot, but it crash's the psp and most image viewers, it may be the
begging of homebrew on 2.71 and 2.80 it may not, im not going to release
the source for it just yet, probably in a couple of days once i do
proper debugging to release a full disclosure. i will however post a
link to the image, iv made a small tiff reader program that does the
most ****tiest error checking you have ever seen but i will print a
quick backtrace

the 0x4004000 was put in by me, iv noticed it hasnt actually overwritten
the instruction pointer and crashed at that address per say, but im sure
i could maybe get something working, if not I then with help this may
become something. Im asking for volunteers, I would prefer someone from
the hitmen or ps2dev crew or SonyXTeam to help, I have recently been
banned from Toc2rta for not releasing any information and whatnot, I
would however like to come back if at all possible and there are no hard
feelings whatsoever. If anyone would like to help or is even the slight
bit interested then get up with me on yahoo my instant messenger name is
hymn_of_a_needle_freak. I am going to jump ahead of myself at the moment
and go ahead and take some inspiration for the old 2.0 exploit and do my
own variation of the framebuffer png(credit goes to skylark on the idea
and niacin for dumping the data on the original version). Im going to go
ahead and work on setting the rest of it up before i concentrate on more

IMO just wait an exploit or downgrader will come sooner or later, i had a 1.52>2.6(i upgraded not knowing about the H/B scene) and now i'm at 1.5(custom), so just hang in there and don't upgrade...but thats just my opinion :)
