The Xbox 360 S has enjoyed a bumper launch in the UK, with sales monitor GfK Chart-Track stating that the machine has “achieved the biggest launch in the UK for a ‘revised’ home console”.
The slimmed down unit arrived in the UK on Friday carrying an RRP of £199.99. Several shops opened their doors at midnight to welcome its arrival.
“[The Xbox 360 S] surpasses the launches of both PS2 Slim and PS3 Slim and recording over two days around the same as the original Xbox 360’s launch sales total back in week 48, 2005.
“This is even more impressive when you take into account that the original Xbox 360 was launched across two versions (Pro and Core).”
Upon its debut in the UK last year, the PS3 Slim sold 40,000 units in its first week on sale – a number that represented a week-on-week increase of 999 per cent.

The only reason for this model to be doing so well, is the fact that many people are replacing their current models due to the many failures.

Personally, I think people are better to spending their money on a PS3 Slim. Because the new Xbox 360 only has the things the current models should already have, except it only plays DVD's where the PS3 plays both Blu-ray and DVD.
