Disney's Toy Story 3 has climbed to the top of the UK charts, with sales up 78 per cent.

Entering the charts at number five last week, Toy Story 3 now benefits from the release of the film, which hit UK cinemas last Monday, July 19.

The only other new entry in the top ten is Square Enix' Dragon Quest IX for Nintendo DS at number nine. Rockstar's Red Dead Redemption climbed up the charts to number two, despite a 13 per cent decline in sales compared to last week.

Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 slipped outside of the top ten for only the second time in its 37 weeks on release, with Chart-Track noting that it will soon break the unit sales record set by Dr Kawashima's Brain Training on DS.

This is an adventure game in which players control various characters from the movie Toy Story 3. Gameplay involves platforming, puzzle-solving, and completing missions in "open-world" environments. Some levels require players to shoot lasers or projectiles at enemies in frenetic combat: a character runs through alien terrain amidst a shower of laser fire and explosions; boss battles depict frequent laser and cannon fire, causing frequent and fiery explosions; and from a first-person perspective, players can use a laser turret gun to shoot flying plush characters. In one sequence, players can strike Stinky Pete, causing him to make a flatulence sound. ESRB: Cartoon Violence; Comic Mischief
