An astonishing development as Halo has been converted to the humble Atari 2600 console. While the visuals and design mechanics of the Xbox original couldn’t possibly be converted to the 2600, the developer has produced a fine run-’n'-gun version spanning dozens of screens. Still taking control of Master Chief, the player has to negotiate through enemy lines, grabbing power-ups, weapons – and all this in a 4K game. The game was released in cartrdige form at the recent Classic Gaming Expo, but emulator images have also been made available to download.
