Playosa Developer , his pet name , says work toward an operating system for PS3, based on Linux that will run through the backup manager.

Features announced:

- Application 730MB on a hard drive , the OS runs as external media (Backup Manager).
- Easy to use .
- Internet browser integrated " PlayBrowse .
- Compatible only with FW 3.41.
- For the moment it is necessary to have a development board. For reasons not yet determined , Playosa does not start with PSFreedom mobile phone (except the N900 ) .
- Acceleration Hardware ( like OS X ) enabled. This means support for. mkv in 1080p !
Support for following file types :
. zip
. tar
. gz
. mp3
. avi
. mp4
. divx
. exe - Only those coded for Playosa . Windows applications will not work.

Hopefully this project, if it is real, can progress rapidly and become one of the solutions to removing otheros and transform also the PS3 into a true multimedia platform .
