What PS1 Games Do You Want To See Working In Sonys PS1 Emulator for PSP

We all know that soon Sony are to unveil their PS1 emulator for the PSP which most likely uses code from VGS and Bleem to make it run excellent on the PSP.

But what are the PS1 Games you would most like to see on the PSP, which games would make the PSP a killer console, ill list some of my faves and see if we all are on the same lines.

When you look at those games its not hard to see why the PSone kicked arse, the RTS games played much better with a mouse though.

Exactly, this isn't like a music artist which contracts to make music for Sony which then Sony owns all the rights too. These third party developers had an agreement (contract) to produce their content for the PSX which they retain all the rights to and even the rights to publish the same works on other platforms.

Along this same line of thought. When books or such are made into movies lots of times the original author gives the movie companies rights to make a followup movie. Which the original author may have absolutely no part in.

I seriously do not believe we are going to see any third party titles ported to the PSP without some sorta contract needing to be hashed out. And as you pointed out EA has the Marvel rights now not Capcom. So we will not be see'ing Marvel versus Capcom ported over from the PSX because Capcom no longer holds the rights to Marvel.

Sony is completely failing us here because they will not be allowing us to rip and re-encode our original PSX disc's for use with their emulator. I believe we will be stuck only with their in house titles that they own the rights to with their emulator. We will see absolutely no third party titles being ported to work with this emulator without some sorta agreement with the license holder. Which as I stated isn't SONY. So your pie in the sky fantasies about 99% of the titles mentioned here will not be appearing on the PSP unless through a Homebrew Emulator.

The ridge racer series, tomb raider series, tekken series and final fantasy series would be a good start.

Sorry but there isn't the huge profit potential in an emulator designed that way. Also there isn't security to protect the property for theft. Who's to say someone couldn't simply download a rip of the PSX game or you might share you game with a friend (another path of lost revenue) and run it with such an emulator. Sony will not be allowing us to rip and run our own disc's it just doesn't make "business" sense. Your only hope is a homebrew emulator.

There are 3 categories of PS1 games I would love to play on the PSP.

1) Legendary games:
- Every SquareSoft/Square-Enix PS1 game.
- Grandia, Soul Blade, MGS, Quake II, NFS 1-5, Gran Tourisimo 1&2, Italian Job, C&C, C&C:RA, Guilty Gear, Dead Or Alive, DBZ:UB22, Discworld 1 2 & Noir, GITS, Oddworld: Abe's Exodus/Oddysee, PaRapper The Rapper, Warcraft 2: The Dark Saga, Worms...

2) Great games that were released in the US, but never released in the UK?!?!
- Final Fantasy Tactics!, Chrono Trigger! (wasn't released on SNES here either!), Chrono Cross, Arc The Lad 1-3, Ehrgeiz, Legend Of Mana, Tales of Eternia...

3) Japan only games that look great, but were never released outside of Japan:
- DBZ:Legends, Initial D, MGS:Integral, Asuka 120%, Cowboy Bebop, PoPoLoCrois, PoPoRoGue, PoPoLoCrois Monogatari II, Ranma ½: Battle Renaissance, Rurouni Kenshin games, Evangelion games...

And then theres many more! :p
If just a few of those games are part of the 1,200 PS1 games I will be very happy! :)

Apart of Final Fantasy saga, I would really like to see:
* Chocobo Racing
* Rayman
* SkullMonkeys

Chocobo Racing was a underrated racing game, better than Mario Kart (in my opinion).
Rayman is unplayable on XP without DosBox, and GBA port is ugly and easier U_U
SkullMonkeys is a must have if you are a Neverhood fan :D

It will be great to play some of the japanese titles I have in my PS1 collection such as

Gunm (for those who like manga, this is a must, it was know as Alita, Battle Angel, the graphics are great, and many playmodes, very long story in such short space of memory).

Gosth in The Shell. (say game but cool also for Manga Fans).

Tenchu (yes, there is also an American version of this).

Shadow of the Samurai. (very cool, and elaborated battle mode).

Bushido Blades. (great !!!!).

Kung Fu tiger (i think this is the correct name, it was cool to play).
