The latest firmware, 2.8, cannot play homebrew. It can only play flash applications:

dang, that sucks...that happened to my first psp. I updated it to 2.71 accidentally, but the AC adapter was not connected...and it still updated..lol

i thought updates checked for the AC to be connected:confused:

actuallly you cant update without the ac in unless you have three bars of battery life
