Sony has released the results of a survey of Japanese PSP users and their PSP usage habits. None of the statistics are terribly surprising -- most respondents have used the System Update feature, have played audio/video on their device, have downloaded game demos, and so on. What surprised me was that 66% of the respondents said that they were interested in trying LocationFree; only about 7% of respondents actually had experience with the PSP's LocationFree feature. Maybe Sony will make a move on the LocationFree box's price? The survey also showed that 54% of respondents ranked "the ability to download game demos directly to the PSP" as their favorite feature of firmware 2.71 -- ranking above the ability to download game demos using a PC (42%), and above the ability to play Flash content (40%). 72% of respondents used their PSP at least once a week (11% don't use it at all, apparently), and about 44% of those who use it once a week use it for around an hour per session.

I use it everyday as an alarm clock and to tell time, i also save constantly photos of my gf and me and i transfer files alot since i have 4 computers and the psp really helps

i use mine sometimes all day then won't touch it for a week....but i always have it close by ;) just in case.

it is quite handy for transferring files from one computer to another like a portable harddrive.

i'd say out of a weeks span i use it 5/7 days mostly for homebrew and emus...and if my computer breaks then its how i go online :D

Mine gets everyday use. What better way to surf the web or play my SNES in class? Also, if nothing else, I use it as a light when I am supposed to be asleep to read.

tunes on the way to work and at work...games at lunch time. multi players at night. I probably love my PSP more than is healthy.

I had a half gig memory card for the longest time, but it wasn't until I got my 4 gig card that my PSP really came to life though.

I've never tried this; I know how to see videos but I think you stream them from the net, right? So how do you do it?

I use mine everyday For MP3s and homebrew. I use Afkim to talk to ppl late at night will listening to music with Ir shell. And i use the web browser when the computer is taken. But i just got Metal Gear Acid 2. And I play that all the time now. Thank god for devhook!

ok its got music playback, video playback, a photo browser, buy-able games and like 4 gigs worth of homebrew games apps and tools like my all time favorite, Devhook.

i use mine every night to watch tv but i only use it as a remote with irshell cause i dont hwave 300 bucks to spend on the locationfree player. if the price would be 100 i would consider it but 300 is more than the rpice of the psp. Also does anyone know if the location free player works without any problems with devhook. ive seen vid of people starting it but they must not have had one so i have no idea if it works with devhook.
i also use my psp for games. and emus mainly nes, snes and gb/gbc/gba, and when r8 gets released probly that too cause r7 is great for mario 64 but too many graphical errors for me and it only ran at 12 fps. but i have read taht r8 should be faster and almost no graphical errors.

Every day without doubt! Commercial games, photo viewer, emus and other homebrew, a bit of internet and if i'm feeling fruity i watch some porn late at night!

Mine comes to work with me everyday and I play it on breaks or when I have free time. Then I loan it to my Supervisor so they can play it in the evening as they start closing down the place and I pick it up at the end of my shift.

Before my analog nub broke off, I would usually run homebrew on my psp. Some of my favorites were pspradio and pspquake.

I use it as a calc with the ti-92 emu (saved me some $ :D) and classic games from my childhood memories.

I built a USB battery for my PSP :D. So when it burns out, I can plug my USB battery to the bottom of the PSP and boom, another 2 hours :P.

I use it for almost everything, except internet since I dont have Wi-Fi...yet.
