Hi. First post so please be kind.

I have searched the forums but can't find what I'm looking for. I have a Jap PSP firmware version 1.5 that also has the TA-082 motherboard.

Can I still install devloaders and the custom firmware by Harleyg without turning it into a brick.

Thanks

Never heard of a 1.5 with a TA-082. I would think that you can install whatever homebrew you want to it but don't get mad at me if by sime random chance your PSP bricks. Did you downgrade using 0okm's method or did you get it as a 1.5?

I got it today from Hong Kong (Ebay) as an import. the Firmware is showing as 1.5 and the motherboard is an TA-082. I am assuming its an original.

We will soon find out. You have to take some chances in life eh:cool:

I am about to add Harleyg custom firmware 0.2 unless someone warns me not to in the next 10 mins:eek:
cheers

There's no way I'm believing that you have a 1.5 TA-082 motherboard. Are you 100% sure it's a TA-082, or did you just read a tutorial and guess?

That...is very wierd. A Jap. 1.50 with a TA-082 motherboard, I mean...Where did you get it from?
Are you able to run emulators or any other homebrew in it?

...Oh yeah, and you don't care about bricking it in the next 10 mins?

Sorry, but I smell bull-sh*t in the air.:D

Open UMD drive top right says IC1003 upside down. That acording to the tutorial is a TA-082 unless someone knows different.

System reports 1.5 firmware.

If it is not new then someone has cleaned every mark and fingerprint from it and repackaged it to an incredable level of detail.

Why is this so strange?

No bull. I don't want to brick it. I've been waiting for 10 days for the damn thing to be delivered and will be gutted if it does.

but unless I try then there was no point in buying it?

Thats why I posted here to get some help first.

the counter is holding for now. there is no rush:confused:

Is the writing in the top left corner or the top right corner (looking at the UMD drive)?

looking at the UMD drive. It's open at the top. The writing is in the top right corner. IC1003 upside down text.

I looked at a picture which showed both. Thats how I figured it was an TA-082.

Hmmmm. If your telling the truth, then it is a TA-082 motherboard. Is there any way you could send any pics in?

Why would I not tell the truth? I've got nothing to gain by not. I just wanted some help and figured this was the best plce to get it. thats all.

The psp has a serial number ending in PSP1006 on the bar code at the bottom.

A picture of what exactly?

because psp's with ta-082 motherboards have not been heard of to have firmware 1.5

If you can, just the part where the writing is and also where it says system update version. Make sure you block out the IP Address though...

quite frankly sir. I don't give a damn!:D

Video_freak on the other hand is the person I reckon can give me the best legit advice and I will try and convince him if I can.

It would, I guess. For your system version, go to settings. Then system settings. Then system information. If you had a camera it would be even better. That way we would be 100% sure it's true. If you don't, then don't worry about it.

The links work. If both of those are from the same PSP, then this is an amazing PSP!

I knew that was coming. There is not a lot else I can do. However there are quite a few people on Ebay that have one (though they paid more than me!)

my original quesion was shall I add harleyg firmware to it. Put it another way does anyone know of a reason why not. Seeing as it's a new combination I suspect that I may be the first to try:eek:

Assuming it does not brick can you point me at a tutorial as to how to get the emulation working so I can use the WiFi?

cheers

I wouldn't try to flash it in any way if I were you.

Apoklepz
August 24th, 2006, 18:05
So...by that you mean, you haven't tested any type of homebrew on it yet, and already you wanna add custom firmware? Try testing any emulators first, or even Lua...

Ok, it says it's rare and has Sharp screen. They only made those at the very beginning, when they weren't even close to making the TA-082 motherboard. He lies, so maybe it's modded or something...

I suspect you are right. It is mint condition. Not a fingerprint or any signs of being opened. All items individually wrapped. Cables wrapped by machine etc. I guess he could have taken it out of the box and modded it.

Should I care or is this bad news?

I don't know.... :(
Since the man lied in the description, I wouldn't try flashing it whatsoever. Homebrew is fine because it runs off of the memory stick though. ;)

This is incredible indeed. Could you tell us the person's ebay ID so we can check up on their items? Could it be possible that they have a TA-082 downgrader but don't want to tell anyone for their benefit?
