It doesn't take long after the original Game Boy Advance Mario vs. Donkey Kong that the old rivals compete with each other once again. Aside from the improved visuals, the sequel on the Nintendo DS offers many new features like touch screen gameplay that strays from the GBA game.

In the Games Convention demo, levels are divided into various areas in which you have to guide the Mini-Marios to the goal. The gameplay could be compared to the classic PC game Lemmings -- by tapping on a Mario you can wind him up and he is ready to move. By dragging the stylus across the Mario you will make him go in that direction. If you flick him upwards he will perform a jump.

Following this principle you have to move all the Marios on screen to guide them to the goal. On the way there are of course many barriers that you have to overcome. While level one is quite easy, the difficulty definitely ramps up in the later rounds. Further challenges require players to manage more than one Mario at a time to lead them to the goal. At the end of each level you have to fight a boss.

Additionally to the main game "Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2" will feature a level editor to let you create your own challenges. Those levels can be sent to people all over the world via Nintendo's internet-based Wi-Fi Connection service.

The potential hit game will be published this September in America so you won't have to wait long until you can get your own hands on it. We seriously recommend you do that.
