Gambiting has released a Snake game as an entry into the Lik Sang coding Contest.

Heres the release details:

Ok,so PSPSnake is an old, good snake game, but with
a few special things that make it more playable than original one. Here we have three modes:

-Classic(the same as original one)
-Arcade(You can reduce snake's lenght, and you can use thing called
snake's motion to slow it's movements, and to escape difficult situations)
-Extreme(The same as classic,but snake's lenght increases
constantly(all the time),so it's much more difficult)

Every mode has diffrent difficulty(arcade - easy,classic - medium,extreme - hard)
so in every mode you gain diffrent points for food(arcade - 6p,classic-9p,extreme-12)
All scores(best ones, and last ones) are saved, and are accesible via highscore menu.
In options menu, you can adjust music, and sound effects ON/OFF.

Hope you enjoy it!!!!

PSP Snake uses the old 1.50 kernel homebrew format, which won't run on newer custom firmwares without being programmed to use newer kernels.

If you have a PSP-1000 (the first-generation fat one), however, you can trick it to use the 1.50 kernel for homebrew that requires it. To do this, you must flash some 1.50 firmware files to the PSP's flash memory using a homebrew application made by Dark_AleX.

You can find this kernel update here (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=118156). You'll also need the 4.01 M33-2 patch, which is available for download on the same page as I linked to. In addition, you'll need the 1.50 firmware update, which can be downloaded from here (http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/4) or here (http://rapidshare.com/files/125864914/150.PBP). This file must be placed in the root (first folder) of your memory stick and be named 150.PBP (the Rapdishare link has done this for you).

To play the game - and any other 1.50 kernel homebrew (there's a lot of superb, forgotten stuff out there) - put the two folders in the folder ms0:/PSP/GAME150/, where ms0:/ is the root of your memory stick.

If you decide to update to 5.00 M33-4, you can do this through the Network Update in your XMB. If you do this, however, do it before you install the 1.50 addon for 4.01 M33-2, because it will be uninstalled once you update. The 1.50 kernel addon for 5.00 M33-4, can be found here (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=167545) and has the same installation instructions as the one for 4.01 M33-2.

If you have any questions, ask. Good luck.
