Chui (http://chui.dcemu.co.uk) has posted some news about the 4ALL series at his forum (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=33715):

I am away because I am working on FAZE with Fox, its a very hard task.

I would want to build new MAME4ALL, NEO4ALL and ZX4ALL releases during next month.

Basically these releases will [feature] FAZE, so [they'll be] faster.

Also some small bugs will be fixed.

You can help the development of FAZE, Fox68k's Z80 CPU emulator in SH4, by beta testing the new beta version of FAZE which has been released along with a new version of ZX4All (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?p=198658).

But Chui also posted some info on his plans for SNES4ALL and PSX4ALL:

I am not working on SNES4ALL and PSX4ALL now.

Fox prefers to finish FAZE now and [to] continue other projects later.

I suppose that we will continue SNES4ALL for Christmas, it needs a assembler code reconstruction and a rewrite of the video blitter for using DC-textures.

Both changes are hard, be patient.

Good luck with FAZE, I hope development goes along nicely.

The source code of snes9x has recently been updated. The asm cpu core, especially the sh4 one, is out of date, compared to the C cpu core. It would need an update to be as much compatible as the C core. I'm looking forward to the next snes4all, as improvements on the emulator core could be taken over to the Saturn port of snes9x.

So im curious to know what takes so long to creat these things. Is it the coding? or you have other things to do? and how will this benefit Z4all. Im guessing you have totally abandone the Snes emulation like most people have?

Both MAME4ALL and SNES4ALL are very promising, and NEO4ALL is already fantastic. SNES4ALL was relatively polished last time I checked, just slow, so any improvements on the speed front would be awesome. MAME4ALL was speedy for the most part, just unpolished, the older romset requirements being the worst offender. A standalone CPS1 emulator would probably be easier to whip up. It's based on the 68000 and Z80 like the NEOGEO and there are plenty of terrific games, if not all, that jive with DC's RAM limitations.

Great news nonetheless, cheers!

Coding an assembly core is really hard, specially targeted to a RISC machine. These types of processors are intented to be used by a compiler, not directly by a human.

Zx4all will not get any benefit from FAZE (well, perhaps some accuracy). In fact, it is the opposite. Zx4all is a test bench for FAZE.

Talking about SNES emulation, we will continue development after getting FAZE inside our Z80 based emulators (ZX4ALL, NEO4ALL and MAME4ALL).

I see. Sounds very complex. If i knew about coding i would try to help in any way to help ya people release newer versions of those emus. Well goodluck and ill be waiting for news from this project :P
