Apparently, the coder (who will remain anonymous to prevent spam) has gotten somewhere with his "downdater". Files can now be flashed to the NAND, howvever, the downdater failed in actually downdating the psp, but it DID NOT BRICK. The coder is continuing to fix the problems as we speak

Questions:

Does it work for TA-082 motherboards?

How does it NOT brick the PSP upon failure to update?

Is it all software-based, or do you need some sort of specialized hardware (e.g. modchip) to do so?

Is that you 0okm? ;)

^^^It might have corrupted files that were used later in the psp's booting up process.^^^

Sounds cool...
but I got a 2.00, so I can use eloader at the moment...(but I want the next eloader to support kernal,(so I can use the ME version of the snes emulator, (its a bit slow at the moment...)))

Wow, This Sounds Great, We Once Thought Homebrew Would Be Impossible On 1.5, But Soon We'll Have Homebrew On 2.71!!!! And A Downgrader. Great News. Also, I Think It's Either MPH Again, Or Dark Alex. Just My 2 cents.

Ya hopefully for 2.71 user it wonīt be to long now. Iīm guessing that with what happened with the last downdater, DA wants to get a pretty stable version running before theres any release. Now with people having the chip itīs alot better for testing;) .
Iīm not sure about the TA-082 boards but Iīm guessing thats a whole different problem. But donīt lose faith guys, one by one all the psp obstacles to homebrew are being solved:D Ookms been making progress;)

With this new downgrader coming out I thought of an idea that I will not use but I just thought I'd throw it out there. So sometimes on ebay people sell guides to homebrew and CD's with homebrew games on them. I for one find that extremely unfair and shameful. My ethics question however would be: Would it be right to sell a downgrading service to people who are not confident in themselves to do it? Once again, I wouldn't do it, it's seems too scammish to me but I'm sure people will do it sometime and I was just wondering what you people think.

TA-082 isn't compatible with 1.50 firmware... isn't that right?
Ya, thatīs right. I was forgetting those boards dont accept anything lower than a 2.6 fw, or it might be 2.5. donīt remember:eek:
I heard Yoshi is also helping out. That kind of sucks because thatīs going to take his time from working on other projects:(
Nothing against the downgrader, its just Iīm really hoping for his other project to be released;)

i tot they rejected anything below 1.52?

anyway for ta-082s maybe 0okm would be able to solve it eventually though the only way currently is only for 2.5s ta082 which requires him to go thru each firmware dump of psps that wanna be downgraded which would mroe or less take him just about forever

wad an irresponsible fren ur fren has to upgrade without permission..lol

wait a sec...it just hit me...
I doubt that this downdater is for anything above 2.7, the eloader for up to 2.71 isn't even released yet so i dun think he would be able to run it, the only people who need a downgrade i can think of would be ta-082s

unless the guy found another exploit that he could use

benh, for some reason, you bring back bad memories to myself. I have no idea why and I wont specify, but its true and I cant help it. Its something to do with being cold and not wearing trousers and it being very early in the morning.

Its probably not your fault, and no, im not talking crap here, these are true feelings of nostalgia, and they are making me feel poorly.

Just be wary of how you word things.

I wonder how the DG is getting along at the moment?

man that is interesting. my mate just bought a new psp from hong kong and it was a '82.
he bought one because he wanted to play the amiga emu and other stuff i had shown him.
he has decided to wait for it to be hacked but maybe i should recommend that he sell it and just buy a non '82 PSP. thoughts?

Benn, i agree. that seemed a little weird:confused:

Oh about the TA. Ya if he can sell it to buy a non TA, i would say thats the best move. Just my opinion.

Edit
Iīm going to quick. TAīs can still use the eloader that will be coming out so he can still have his homebrew.:D Itīs just downgrading that would be difficult.
