Saber Interactive's time-bending PC and Xbox 360 shooter TimeShift has now been slapped with a 2007 release, as publisher Vivendi announces a delay to an unspecified date for the title.

According to a statement from Vivendi, the decision to move TimeShift to 2007 has been taken in order to "give it the time and resources needed to fulfil its potential." The publisher also said in the statement that it acquired the Saber Interactive title with the view that TimeShift "would become a stand out FPS franchise." It added: "Our commitment to that vision remains".

TimeShift chucks you into the shoes of a test pilot who, after testing out time travel technology for the government, finds himself stranded in an alternate reality ruled by a nasty geezer called Krone who has been messing with history to set himself us as dictator. Only Swift knows what's truly going on and needless to say, Krone isn't about to let the truth of his schemes be revealed...

Time-bending gameplay lends a helping hand on your adventures and you can freeze time, slow it down and also rewind it as an aid to completing missions and objectives and shooting shit. Marvellous, our chromometers have now been set to next year.
