Success HK (http://www.superufo.com/product_html/SONY_PSP_SanDisk_Memory_Stick_Pro_Duo_4GB_w__Adapt or.html?aff_id=24) have just lowered the price of the SanDisk Memory Stick Pro Duo 4GB to a new lower price of $138 which is just under 70 pounds for UK people.

But i was also sent a code that you can all use Promotion Code: 4152 that takes another $10 dollars off the price, dropping it down to $128, i think shipping to anywhere works out to around $4 or £2 in UK money. The code lasts until the 30th September too :) but only on the item posted above.

I don't get why this site ignores newegg.com when their prices are better.

I agree with Newegg having better prices. The only thing I can figure is that maybe Success HK is a sponsor of this site or something.

I remember when I first bought my 2GB stick. I got it when it first came out. It set me back $170. About the price I paid for my PSP itself...

Yes. It's the 8GB that will be a problem for anyone on any current firmwares. For a little while, anyway.

Well I've just ordered my Sandisk 4g card. :)

My Datel 4g hd brick has just died and I cant do fook all with it now. :( ...thankfuly I backed it up last weekend so it shouldnt be to much trouble getting it back to normal.

Thanks for the information on how much and where to purchase the memory card... very handy right now! :D

Does anyone know personally that the PSP can make use of the ULTRA-II cards additional speed?

I'm only interested in read speed on the psp, not how fast I can dump data to the card with a seperate card reader/writer.

Everything i can find online seems to suggest that there is no benefit unless the device the card is used in is designed to make use of the extra bw.

Any help appreciated.

While I’m waiting for me new mem card to turn up I’ve put my old 1gb sony card back into my psp. I’ve put a few of my fav emulators on the card (CPS1+2 and NGE) and I cant believe how much faster they now all run compared to the Datel 4g Hard Drive that just died on me (after only 4months of use)!! ...Also while playing the bigger games (Darkstalkers, SF2T etc) they don’t stutter around so much and are now soooo much more playable!

...plus the homebrew game R-Gear now works for me when before it just kept crashing! :) I asume its was the shite Datel drive that made it incompatible?

Does the Sandisk 4g memory card play/load things just as well as playing it on a 1gb card?

The speed issues with the HDD are due to the fact its just a crappy mstick->CF adaptor I beleive, your new 4gb mstick should be fine.

Ideal... I cant wait for the card to arrive now so I can pimp it full of home brew! :D

I just wished that I paid out for a decent card first time round, rather than wasting it on some plastic piece of poo.
