News from the Downgrader Team (http://downgrader.lan.st):

Fixed a bug that caused premature bricking if the hack to force the unassign/assign of the flash failed. All sites mirroring the file, please update it to the new one.

Download the Downgrader at our 2.71 Downdater Page (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=34338)

razorak
September 2nd, 2006, 16:40
dun forget to add the 1.5 firmware dump, as far as i know DCEmu don't host illegal files...lol

btw rar is a compressed file like .zip

@vyas
the chances are lower than before...lol

.rar is one of the most famous file compression methods there is lol. Download winrar (http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm) to extract ;).

I've got a stupid question when the directions for the downgrader say put the MS_root files in the root of youy memory stick do they mean your MS_root? i just really want to get this right and not screw it up.

September 2nd, 2006, 16:47
i feel sorry for the people who bricked their psps yesterday because they werent patient when 2.6 downgrader came out i waited like a month lol.

Edit: they mean put it at the root of your memory stick e.g. if your memory stic is at directory F:/ then put it there dont put it in any folder

vyas5
September 2nd, 2006, 16:50
so is this like the 2.5/2.6 downgrader the fully finished one? except for 2.71. and what are the chances of bricking, has anyone bricked theirs yet???

No this isn't like the one-click exe file, this is a tad more risky. There have a few bricks made but lots of 1.5's to join our army. Please use the newly updated version of the downgrader, it's safer!

go to www.psp-hacks.com (http://www.psp-hacks.com) they probably have the whole file u need with everything in it

They might not have the bug fix though so just use the dump from there downdater.

Video_freak
September 2nd, 2006, 17:30
what do you mean bad websites???
It has some illegal files on it and DCEmu is full legal, so mods don't like links like those very much...

vyas5
September 2nd, 2006, 17:31
ohh ok, so its legal to make emus n stuff like that for psp? i never knew that...

…you shouldnt really provide the links to the files
its the same as linking to roms…

if you cant use google you shouldnt attempt to downgrade…

so then what's the easy downgrader? i thought that had all the files ready to go in a .exe file, what's the difference here?

Juanton3790
September 2nd, 2006, 17:51
how many ppl have succesfully downgraded using the files from psp-hacks?

jak66
September 2nd, 2006, 17:51
the easy downgrader does not have the downdater folder

September 2nd, 2006, 17:55
all im saying is that if we want to be safe it is best not to link to copy protected files…

not that i dont want everyone to have full homebrew access, of course. its just risky.

i had firmware mods on my 1.5 and when i downgraded my friends psp he had all my mods. it was just supprising caue i thought that it was my psp. if anyone wants the files they can im me on aim. but then u would have my mods.
Black backgrounds every month

Lacuna341
September 2nd, 2006, 18:32
Nope still no luck, jus a question, would it matter that im running 2.70 instead of 2.71, i didnt think it would matter but it may, if so is there anyway i can update to 2.71 without having to go to 2.8

BL4Z3D247
September 2nd, 2006, 18:34
ok well i was ballsy and i upgraded to 2.71, and used the 2.71 downgrader(just to see what the deal was with this downgrader) and it took about 15 tries to get the RSOD but worked fine, anyone know if this downgrader leaves u with a buggy 1.5fw or is it a "clean" 1.5fw like the 2.0 downgrader gives u?

Juanton3790
September 2nd, 2006, 18:34

Lacuna341

As far as i know the eloader is out soon, thats all i know, however, ppl sed that it may be longer for an eloader for 2.7+ because of the extra security

vyas5
September 2nd, 2006, 19:14
lacuna have you downgraded yet? howd it go?

Lacuna341
September 2nd, 2006, 19:19
I updated to 2.71 in the hope that that might help, so far i have done like 6/7 tries and no luck, im gona keep going though in hope, it did say 1/10

September 2nd, 2006, 19:50
Hey guys!

I have a question about the downdater, you know the one that is about 19 mb.

( The file is from a site that was previously posted in this thread )

Can I use that one with the new downdater fix?, or should I ask, has anyone used that particular downdater file with the new downgrader fix?

Lacuna341
September 2nd, 2006, 20:05
It only took like 7/8 tries, so just less than average

uhoh_hotdogs
September 2nd, 2006, 20:15
I accept no responsibility for any bricks that may result but if anyone is willing to try to downgrade I have the folder you need. I first used the MPH downgrader and then restored all of my default settings before I ran the 1.50 helper program (so this is as "clean" of a dump as you can possibly get). I have a North American PSP (U.S.) if that matters . . . PM me your e-mail if you really want to try.

Oh and the dump was 13MB large for those wondering.
(when not compressed at all, those of you who have seen files that have been floating around that were 9MB large had probably been compressed.)

BL4Z3D247
September 2nd, 2006, 20:21
yeh like i said to the newly downgraders, the 2.5/2.6 downgrader was buggy and this downgrader was based off of that one so ur probably gunna have to upgrade to 2.0 and then use the MPH 2.0 downgrader to obtain a truely "clean" 1.5 fw...otherwise some side effects may occur

ICE
September 2nd, 2006, 20:35
a certain web page's download section has the 1.5 dump but its only like 9 MB. i thought it was like 13 right?

Woot, it worked !1!1!1! :D

The first time I tried it, the psp froze on me ( I got really scared since the psp turned off by itself ) after that I turned it back on to see if it was still working and decided to give it a second chance and succeeded in downgrading my psp.

Woot, Thanx to everyone who made this possible.

Edit: BTW after I downgraded, I went back to USB mode and I found some files in the root directory, including the downdater, is it alright if I delete them?

September 2nd, 2006, 21:46
4 the people who got it to work wer any of yours a ta-082? cuz i have a 1.5 and a 2.6 but the 2.6 is a 82 so i might just wait for the eloader...

ICE
September 2nd, 2006, 21:50

September 2nd, 2006, 21:52
i had 2.6 firmware.since i don't have gta i upgraded my psp to 2.71 (it's not ta model,i checked it).then i run that new downgrader which worked after i restarted psp several times.screen wend red ,memory has been flashed.i restarted psp again, blue screen popped out (the one that says there is something wrong) which i cancelled by pressing circle button.then psp restarted again with my 1.5 firmware ready to be configured.that's it.couldn't be easier to downgrade,i tell ya!
