Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and O2 will all offer Sony Ericsson's gaming-centric Xperia Play smartphone when it launches in the UK later this year.
According to an Engadget report (http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/07/o2-uk-says-its-getting-the-sony-ericsson-xperia-play/), O2 broke the news via its Twitter feed (http://twitter.com/#!/O2/status/34600749682012160), while Pocket-lint (http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/38373/sony-erisson-xperia-play-april) then got confirmation of the other carriers' support.
Both Orange and T-Mobile stated that the device will be available from them in April, though didn't discuss pricing or contract details.
Of the main UK operators, that just leaves Three to declare its interest.
Sony's worst kept secret finally went public at the weekend (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-07-ps-phone-xperia-play-official) in a brief promo aired in the US during the Super Bowl. Full disclosure of what the gadget actually does is expected at the Mobile World Congress event in Barcelona this weekend.
