Sonic turns 20 years old this year, and SEGA teased that celebrations will start as soon as tomorrow.
Coincidentally, internet investigatorSuperannuation (http://twitter.com/supererogatory/status/54928714747740160#) turned up two new website addresses for something called Sonic Generations.
Are the two linked?
"Sonic's 20th anniversary is this year, but SEGA [will] start celebrating on 7th April and you'll only find out how on the Sonic Facebook page!" wrote SEGA on the Sonic Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/Sonic).
Those two new website URLs are sonicgenerations.com and sonic-generations.com. They were registered by EuroDNS, a company that has worked with SEGA before.
"Generations" suggests a collection of Sonic games.
SEGA PR echoed the Facebook post.

Sonic's 20th anniversary is this year

That explains why there are so many Sonic re-releases on the PS3.

Fortunately for me, I've got all the classic Sonic games so another collection would be wasted on me (although I'm playing the individual PSN releases).
