Forthcoming FPS sequel Metro 2034 is to be renamed Metro 2033: Last Light, if a set of new URL registrations are to be believed.
As spotted by keen-eyed Tweeter Superannuation (http://twitter.com/#!/supererogatory), publisher THQ grabbed www.lastlight.com, www.metrolastlight.com and www.metro2033lastlight.com earlier this week, suggesting a name change is imminent.
Developed by Ukrainian studio 4A games, the brilliantly bleak Metro 2033 came out last March on PC and Xbox 360. Set largely in post-apocalyptic Moscow's mutant-infested underground, it won a solid 8/10 (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/metro-2033-review) from Eurogamer's Jim Rossignol.
Very little has been revealed about its forthcoming sequel since it was first unveiled in June (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/metro-2033-sequel-will-be-3d), other than that THQ intends to give it a little more marketing TLC than it did to the somewhat-neglected original (http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-02-11-thq-promises-extra-support-for-metro-2034).
No release date for the game has yet been set.
