GAME is currently listing the 3G version of the device for £279.99.
It has the wi-fi only model available to pre-order for £229.99. In the US that will cost $249 and in Europe it will retail for €250.

Ah, didn't spot this post. Still close enough to my £250-300+ estimate though. Just wait, there'll probably be pre-order discounting like the 3DS before it comes out later.

I've set myself limits for what I'll pay for any device because no matter how much power you stick in them they still just consoles and really The Vita has more features but without a phone it is no different to Psp, my limits are: Home console £250, Handheld £200, Phone £400, and that is the absolute maximum i'm willing to pay considering what and how much I'll use them, and personally i see the Vita having exactly the same fate as Psp in the west because i dunno? they both basically the same except for 6 years of advancements so it's too techy and fragile for kids and casual gamers and no phone limits it's appeal, plus Sony has a really crappy image right now so people will just go for the phones with almost equal power within 3 years.
