Group publishes emails and passwords for unspecified services; Gmail, PayPal and WoW affected
Having caused further havoc with EVE Online players overnight, LulzSec has stepped up its anarchic digital crusade by publishing the email and password details of 62,000 internet users.
The kicker this time is that the group has not revealed the source of the information. Instead, users are left worrying whether they've been affected – particularly if they use shared log-in details across a number of sites.
The list in full was made available for everyone to download for a brief period this afternoon.
Followers of LulzSec on Twitter have already reported success in using the details to access accounts on a range of services including PayPal, Gmail, Facebook, dating sites and World of Warcraft.
TNW speculates that the database could have been stolen from the site Writerspace.com.
