The Wii European press conference taking place in London is taking place right now (12:00 GMT!) And we will update this thread/newspost as detail are revealed:

Nintendo are insisting that nobody uses laptops or other electronic transmitting devices, but some are getting details anyway:

12:22 -- Conference has not started yet

12:34 -- The Conference room is taking a while to fill up/ people to take there seats

12:49 -- still not started (rummor: Tim Henman and Greg Rusedski are at the conference)

12:55 -- show is starting

12:59 --Laurent Fischer, European marketing director is talking about how much of a challenge it is to reach out to non-gamers. Logan is badgering him quite aggressively about why she should care about the Wii.

1:01 --Satoru Shibata, president of Nintendo Europe is on stage.

1:06 -- Currently they are talking about the DS success with nongamers, and how the Wii will do the same

1:12 --"In the very near future we'll be launching another console that will go even further in making games accessible and fun for everyone."

Gabby's (a nongamer girl) is back. Introducing Wii Sports' boxing game. Shibata's going to play against Iwata, who they say is actually in Japan.

A hologram of your player in front of you, jabbing with the Wii remote and Nunchuck.

1:17 -- Satoru Iwata is taking about how much has what has changed in games since the nes days

Four significant moments of introducing products that changed things:
1) DS. 2) Touch! Generations games 3) Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection......

1:21-- 4) Most dramatic: the hands-on with the Wii control in LA at E3 2006. "For us, that was a huge week."

Each moment represents a bridge to the majority of people who don't play games, he says. Today introduces a fifth step.....

fifth milestone in Nintendo's strategy - the Wii Channel

1:23-- Wii menu page contains four pages, each with 12 channel screens. Acces Cube/Wii software discs. Onboard photo software. Goal to provide simple editing.

Another channel "became a must after its reception in LA". The character creation stuff.

1:24-- Mii Channel - and idea that came about after the E3 Wii Tennis demo where everyone wanted to know of they'd be able to put their own faces into the game, as with Iwata's character.

message board system, calender, weather channels and of course, the Internet Channel. Provided by Opera.

Virtual Console :Offering an "instant library" of games - 15 VC games available during launch period. Roughly 5-10 titles will be added per month. When purchased, always accessible and will become a new channel on the main screen.

WiiConnect 24 - constantly updated information while we sleep.

13:30 -- 'Tim Henman' and 'Greg Rezetski' are now here to show off tennis on Wii

"We move quicker in this game than real life," says Greg

Tim and Greg are playing against Fischer and Shibata

13:43--Launch titles: Wii Sports, Wii Play (the mini-games package with bundled Wii remote). Zelda...

WarioWare: Smooth Moves (just after launch).

Third-party: around 15-20 games from launch. Red Steel. Rayman. Need for Speed Carbon. Tony Hawk. Super Monkey Ball.

13:44 - Right, with that bit of frenzied excitement out the way, we've moved onto that Wii games trailer that was doing the rounds on the Japanese website yesterday. Incidentally, it looks a bit more impressive when it's blown up slightly bigger than the size of a postage stamp.

12:47 - And with one last crescendo of music, Iwata has reappeared on stage. The words "Wii move you" are dangling provocatively over his head. He's inviting us to go try the damn thing out for ourselves. And - gasp - a huge gaping chasm has opened in the wall behind him and everyone's being sucked through, like huge electronically-obsessed sheep. Or something. You know, if we'd thought about it, we would have said 'Iwata is inviting us to play with his Wii'. AHAHAHAHAHahhahahahaha. God, I kill me sometimes.

And on that note, we're off to play some games. Cheerio from London! We love you, we really, really do!

Disappointing? That's f**king sweet! Less that 200 notes. That's awesome. 35 notes for a game. That's equal to PSP. Good move!.

Rumours were talking about a £150 price mark (even one rumour of £115) and a release date was mentioned of october before, but it hasn't even hit the november mark. Also the cheap software is merely average current-gen prices.
It's not xbox360 or ps3 prices by any means but Nintendo could have blown us away with prices just a bit cheaper.
