C3: How did the concept for Phoenix Wright arise, why do you think it has become such a popular franchise in Japan and where did the idea of translating the GBA games to the DS come from?
Ms. Matsukawa: I think the reason why this series became popular in Japan was that the players appreciated the GBA development team's passion for good quality. Then, word of mouth spread - that was how it became popular. I feel that the development team and the players communicated through the game.
