Hi All,

XZ81 is an emulator of the Sinclair ZX81 computer running on Unix systems.
It has been written by Russell Marks in 1995.
See http://rus.members.beeb.net/ for further informations.

I've sucessfully modified, and port the source code of the version 2.1 of xz81 and
it's now working fine on PSP !

It has been developped on linux for Firmware 1.5, and 2.1+ using DevHook
and the two great GTA eloaders (0.97 and 0.98 ) from http://www.fanjita.org/.

How to use it ? Everything is in the README.txt file.

If you're looking for a manual or documentation for the zx81 itself have a look here :
http://www.zx81kit.com/

Sources are included, and this package is under the GNU public licence,
read COPYING.txt file for more information about it.

Special thanks to all PSPSDK developpers.

Enjoy, :)

Zx.

man , you are the unrivaled emulator god, but ive got to ask...
whats the point? aside from nostalgia. whats next, the
TR(a)S(h)-80 color comp?
no disrespect.

Vic 20 that would be old skool cool.
Mike03> I think XP maybe too complex to emulate on PSP. I saw something before, like a XP background but that's all it was.
Try irShell 2.2
That has the most computer-like XMB going.

You have to wait for a eloader working on 2.8x ... For now this emulator is working up to 2.6 using eloader 0.98 :)

PSPVice as already been done but only works for C64, I have been speak with the creator and he said it would not be to dificault to recode it to work the VIc and maybe the others.

Grid Runner, Blue Meanies From Outer Space my favs.

I would say 3d monster maze, Gauntlet, Hi-Res Invaders :)

Here is a list with votes etc ... (http://www.honneamise.u-net.com/zx81/zx81cht.txt) :

But don't expect too much, the zx81 is not a game console :(

It had to be and the circle is complete, ZX-81 doing a ZX-81 emulator. :p

As always, great work.

Fancy doing an Atari VCS emu next as the one that's available still needs work.

@ Dazman - the psp vice port is pretty buggy and far from optimum imho. i suspect zx could do an improved (and maintained) port.

well well well ZX.... you're starting to get there. (hehe) i mean.... lets be honest, the 81 was hardly the triumph of machinery that the Speccy was, but at least you've finally done ONE sinclair machine!

Great work!

This is basically the same as my very first computer...I had the TImex\Sinclair 1000. I even had the expansion pack that plugged in the back...I think I still own it -=smirks=-

You might think of a Spectrum next, or as requested vic20...or take a big step into a Macintosh...

Thanks

-=djamm=-

ps. it is great to see you working on some new emu's again -=grins=-

The main problem with Virtual Boy console emulation, is the 32-bit RISC Processor @ 20 MHz ... We will need a dynamic recompiler to reach full speed on a PSP :(.
