Since my find last week of the Snes emulator for the Nintendo DS by archeide (http://www.dcemu.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=35870) which i was stunned to find out was posted back in July, i posted the news but didnt even see that. Well obviously since i posted the news and the many websites that check here and post news i post, the coder has returned to the project, so well done to everyone for showing an interest, remember all coders want feedback on any release they make.

Anyway yesterday i sent an email to archeide and he informed me via email that he has released a Very Alpha new version of his Snes emulator for the Nintendo DS, heres the part of the email that explains this new version:

.THis emulator has buggy support for ROMs with size > 2Mo. I know it's buggy so i just wanted to see how many roms where working. I succeeded to play some part of terranigma, ff3, dkc (but not chronotrigger). But I just have a small amount of roms, so i need testers with other roms.
You can put this version as a news, but explain that this is a very alpha version and that the ROMs must be put in the root directory, not the SNES directory like the official version.

Thanks to archeide for this release and the email :).

Does this work on the M3 with a miniSD card? The 0.1 version didnt, gave me an "initialize" error. I'll test this one though.

Nope, this still gives the "Initialize FS" error.

Try taking out all other files from the root directory, or putting them in another folder. I got mine to work that way on a Supercard SD

Put all roms and the SnemulDS in the root.

That should work. Make sure there are no [],() in the file names.

Sorry to tell you this bro, but FFII is way better. Best storyline ever made by man. period. and FFV (japanese) is amazing too cus you can change your class.

Oh I was told to put them in a /SNES/ folder (just the roms). Well I'll try your way and see what happens.

EDIT: Well it got a little farther. Instead of saying "Initialize FS..." once, it now spams it. YAY!

A lot more works on this than snesDS but it is a lot slower, that's not a complaint thought! This is great stuff. :D

Running DS phat with original PassME, GBAMP and a 1/2 meg Kingston CF card - nds file in a SNES folder and the ROMs in root.

ROMs I've tried that work...

Super Ghouls N Ghosts (turn off BG3 - 35% speed)
Wing Commander (very buggy until mission starts - 33% speed)
Super R-Type (50% speed)
Gradius III (50% speed)
Super Turrican (problem with background - 50% speed)
Super Turrican 2 (33% speed)
Super Aleste (background problems - 50% speed)
Darius Twin 2 (67% speed)

ROMS I've tried that don't work...

R-Type 3
Final Fight 3
Super SWIV (don't get past 1st splash screen)
The Chaos Engine

ROMSs I've tried that are unplayable...

Might & Magic III (corrupted gfxs)
Final Fantasy IV (corrupted gfxs, text doesn't appear)

So, if it's modified by you, does that mean it's MMP/D compatible?
