While we don't envy the $60 they have to pay for most games, one thing that Japanese gamers have always been privileged with is the option of loading up on amazing gaming tchotchkes. Sure, you may pay twice as much for a Limited Version of a game, but to get an authentic bust of the lead character or some cool toys or cel art of the game, that may be worth it.

Konami's booth for its huge upcoming PSP title Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops showed off some goodies for the game that it looks like it has plans on selling through the KonamiStyle.jp game store here in Japan. The highlight was a MGS:PO PSP pack, which included the PSP game and a PSP (standard black, unfortunately) in a themed MGS: PO package. Shown with the kit (but not depicted on the box -- we're not sure if there will be more inside the package than just these two basic items) was a lined canvas PSP case with a red leather badge on the front showing the new cool-assed Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops logo, plus a set of three MGS: PO medals. Also in the kiosk was another PSP case, this one with a snakeskin camo print. A selection of MGS:PO shirts are already available on the site.
